Most AI travel planners can write you an itinerary in seconds. Far fewer can turn that itinerary into booked flights, hotels and transfers. In 2026 the gap is narrowing: some planners now take payment inside the chat, some book only hotels, and some still send you to another site to finish. This guide compares six of them by what they can actually do for you, using each company’s own published information.

What makes an AI travel planner worth using?
We looked at five things for each tool:
- Plan quality: does it produce a realistic, day-by-day plan you can follow?
- Real prices: does it show live prices from suppliers, or estimates?
- Booking: can you pay and get a confirmation inside the product, or does it hand you off?
- Language and region: does it work in Arabic, and is it available where you live?
- Cost: what is free, and what needs a subscription?
The best AI travel planners in 2026
1. Ziarah.ai
Best for: turning one sentence into a complete, bookable trip (flights, hotel, airport transfers and activities) with one total price.
Ziarah.ai is an AI travel planner and booking platform based in Abu Dhabi. You describe the trip in a chat, in English or Arabic, and it gives you two ways to build it. Choose “Plan it for me” and it assembles the whole package for you in about a minute. Choose “Let me choose” and it works through the trip with you step by step, showing options for each flight, hotel, transfer and activity so you pick every detail, much like sitting down with a personal travel agent. Either way you book it in the same conversation. Behind it are the same suppliers travel agencies use:
- Flights: Sabre (global distribution system), Verteil (airline NDC content) and Air Arabia direct.
- Hotels: Hotelbeds.
- Activities and tours: Hotelbeds.
- Airport and city transfers: iWay.
- Payment: cards, Apple Pay and Aani through noon and MyFatoorah, and pay-later options through Tabby and Tamara.
It runs on the web, iOS and Android, and you can plan as a guest without signing up. Ziarah is operated by Ziarah Travel & Tourism – L.L.C – S.P.C, an IATA-accredited company.

Strengths:
- Plan your way, like a personal travel agent: hand the whole trip over, or go through it in detail and choose each part yourself. You can keep asking for changes (“a hotel closer to the old town”, “a later flight home”, “one more night in Kyoto”) until the plan fits, the way you would with an agent.
- The whole trip in one booking: flights, hotel, transfers and activities in a single package with one total price, instead of four separate checkouts.
- Everything stays in sync: airport pickups are timed to your actual flight’s landing, departure pickups to take-off, and multi-city trips get a hotel per city and the transfer between them.
- Easy changes: swap the hotel or flights, add nights or activities, and the rest of the trip adjusts.
- Search in plain language: ask for “a 4-star near the beach with a pool” and get live results with recommended picks and normal filters.
- Families and groups: children’s ages and multiple rooms are handled, so rooms fit the party.
- Plan together: invite friends or family into the same trip so everyone can see the plan and help shape it before you book.
- Start from anywhere: saw a place in a reel, video or article? Share or paste the link into Ziarah and it plans a trip around it.
- Share your trip: send the finished plan to the people you’re travelling with, or post it to your social media.
Limitations:
- It is newer than most tools on this list, with a much smaller community and fewer independent reviews so far.
- It acts as an intermediary for airlines, hotels and activity providers, so refunds follow each supplier’s policy and timeline.
Price: the app is free to download.
2. Mindtrip
Best for: visual, map-based trip discovery with flight and hotel booking, for travellers comfortable paying with PayPal.
Mindtrip started as an AI itinerary planner with photos, maps and shareable trips, and added booking in 2026. Mindtrip Flights, launched in May, is built on Sabre and PayPal, and travellers “can check out directly within the experience using PayPal.” Mindtrip Stays, launched in July, draws on hotel inventory from providers including Priceline, Expedia, Booking.com and Agoda, and you can book through Mindtrip or with the supplier you choose.
Where it beats Ziarah.ai: a larger, more established user base, and a planning interface with maps, photos and reviews that many travellers like to browse.
Limitations: flight checkout runs through PayPal; its site links only to an iOS app; Arabic is not among its iOS app languages.
Price: the iOS app is free.
3. Layla
Best for: tailor-made trips where you want a human travel advisor to check the plan and handle bookings.
Layla, based in Berlin, combines an AI planner with human Travel Advisors. Its FAQ says you can book directly from your plan yourself, or let an advisor refine it, after which “our team books the arrangements included in your trip, which may include hotels, flights, transfers, activities and more.” It also offers 24/7 support during your trip, including over WhatsApp.
Where it beats Ziarah.ai: the option of a dedicated human advisor who works on your plan with you.
Limitations: Layla recommends “a minimum budget of €100 per person, per night,” so it suits mid-range and premium trips more than budget ones. Its iOS app lists English only.
Price: planning is free, per its FAQ; the iOS app also offers a subscription at $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
4. Wanderlog
Best for: groups planning together, and travellers who have already booked and want everything organised on one map.
Wanderlog puts your itinerary and a map in one view, with real-time collaboration, expense tracking and splitting, and email import of your flight and hotel confirmations. It includes an AI trip planner and a hotel search that covers hotels and Airbnbs with price-drop alerts.
Where it beats Ziarah.ai: collaboration. Real-time group planning, cost splitting and seeing every stop on a map are Wanderlog’s core features.
Limitations: its official pages don’t say you can complete a booking inside Wanderlog, and its iOS app lists English only.
Price: free, with a Pro subscription from $5.99 a month on iOS.
5. ChatGPT
Best for: brainstorming and open-ended questions before you commit to a destination.
ChatGPT is a general assistant rather than a travel product, but it writes detailed itineraries and handles follow-up questions well. Since October 2025 it has apps from partners including Booking.com and Expedia, which show live hotel and flight options inside the chat. OpenAI says these apps are available outside the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. ChatGPT supports Arabic.
Where it beats Ziarah.ai: range. It can answer almost any question around a trip, not only travel bookings.
Limitations: you finish bookings on the partner’s website, and answers given without a connected app can include out-of-date prices or details.
Price: free plan available; paid plans add more usage.
6. Google Gemini and AI Mode
Best for: research backed by Google Maps, Flights and Hotels data, and US travellers who want to book a hotel from search.
The Gemini app plans trips using Google Flights, Google Hotels and Maps, and links you to those services to book. It is free and available in Arabic. Separately, AI Mode in Google Search added hotel booking in August 2026: you choose a room, review the cancellation policy and pay with Google Pay, while the hotel or booking site remains the merchant.
Where it beats Ziarah.ai: the depth of Google’s place data, reviews and maps.
Limitations: AI Mode hotel booking is rolling out in the US in English first, flights are price tracking only, and Gemini itself hands off to Google Flights and Hotels to book.
Price: free; paid Google AI plans are available.
Why booking inside the planner matters
An itinerary is only useful if what it describes can still be bought. Three things make that harder than it looks:
- Fares expire. Flight prices from a search are a snapshot. Before you pay, the fare has to be re-checked, and it often changes when cheaper seats sell out. A planner that books checks the price at the moment you buy; one that only suggests leaves you to find out later.
- Transfers depend on flight times. An airport pickup needs your flight number and arrival time. When the planner books both, the transfer can match the flight you actually chose.
- One payment, one record. Booking in one place means one checkout and one set of confirmations, instead of separate accounts on several sites and a plan that no longer matches what you booked.
Handing off to a partner site is still a reasonable choice, and the partner then handles payment and changes. It just means the planning and the booking happen in different places.
How to choose
- You want to plan and book the whole trip in one place: Ziarah, Mindtrip or Layla. Ziarah covers flights, hotels, transfers and activities in one chat; Mindtrip covers flights and hotels; Layla adds human advisors.
- You’re travelling as a family or a group: Ziarah, where you can invite others into the same trip and book everyone’s rooms in one go, or Layla, which handles group trips through its advisors.
- You’re planning with friends: Wanderlog, for shared editing, maps and cost splitting.
- You want a person to check the plan: Layla.
- You’re still deciding where to go: ChatGPT or Gemini, then a booking planner once you know.
- You’re in the US and only need a hotel: Google AI Mode.
