A Switzerland holiday package from Dubai usually covers return flights from Dubai International (DXB) to Zurich or Geneva, 6–8 nights across two or three bases such as Zurich, Lucerne and Interlaken, a Swiss Travel Pass for trains and lake boats, and one or two mountain excursions such as Mount Titlis or the Jungfraujoch. Emirates flies nonstop from DXB to both Zurich and Geneva, a trip of roughly six and a half to seven hours, so you can land in Switzerland the same day you leave Dubai. Most UAE residents plan 7–10 days and pick summer (June–September) for lakes and hiking, or December–March for snow.

What does a Switzerland package from Dubai include?

Whether you buy a fixed package or build your own, a Switzerland trip from Dubai is made of the same pieces. Knowing them helps you compare offers line by line.

  • Return flights from DXB to Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA). Flying into one city and out of the other saves you a long train ride back to the start.
  • Hotels in two or three bases. Moving every night wastes time; two or three nights per base works better.
  • Rail travel. Most packages include a Swiss Travel Pass, which covers trains, buses and lake boats and gives discounts on many mountain railways and cable cars.
  • Mountain excursions such as Mount Titlis from Engelberg or the Jungfraujoch from Interlaken or Grindelwald.
  • Airport and station transfers, which matter if you arrive late or travel with heavy winter luggage.

Some packages are fixed (same hotels, same days for every traveller); others are modular, letting you choose cities, hotel class and the number of nights in each.

How do you get to Switzerland from Dubai?

Dubai has nonstop flights to Switzerland’s two main airports:

  • Emirates flies nonstop from DXB to both Zurich and Geneva. Flight schedules show the trip taking about six and a half to seven hours.
  • SWISS flies Zurich–Dubai. It suspended the route for part of 2026 because of the regional situation and planned to restart at the end of October 2026, so check its current timetable before you count on it.
  • If you live in Abu Dhabi, Etihad sells flights from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Zurich and Geneva, which can save the drive to DXB.

Zurich is the better arrival point for Lucerne, Engelberg (Titlis) and eastern Switzerland. Geneva suits Lake Geneva, Montreux and Zermatt. Both airports have railway stations inside the terminal complex, so you can go straight from arrivals to a train. You can compare dates and fares on our flight search.

Flight schedules in and out of the Gulf changed often in 2026. Check the airline’s live timetable before you book a package around a specific flight.

When is the best time for a Switzerland trip from Dubai?

Choose the Swiss season first, because it shapes everything else in the trip.

  • June to September: the most popular time for UAE residents, because it is a cool escape from the Gulf summer. Lakes, hiking trails and high-altitude railways are fully open. Prices and crowds peak in July and August, especially in Lucerne and Interlaken.
  • December to March: snow season. Good for skiing, sledging, Christmas markets in December and snowy train routes. Pack proper winter clothing.
  • April–May and October: quieter and often cheaper, but some mountain lifts close for maintenance between seasons. Check the operator’s site before you plan a mountain day.

UAE school holidays (summer, winter and spring breaks) push up fares from Dubai. Booking flights early matters more on this route than on short Gulf trips.

Sample 8-day Switzerland itinerary from Dubai

This plan suits a first trip in summer, flying into Zurich and out of Geneva.

  1. Day 1 – Dubai to Zurich. Take a morning flight from DXB and land in Zurich in the afternoon. Walk the Old Town and the lakeshore.
  2. Day 2 – Zurich to Lucerne. The train takes under an hour. See the Chapel Bridge and the old town walls, then take an evening boat on Lake Lucerne.
  3. Day 3 – Mount Titlis. Train from Lucerne to Engelberg, then cable cars to the 3,020 m summit. The last stage is the Rotair, a cable car that rotates as it rises over the glacier.
  4. Day 4 – Lucerne to Interlaken. Ride the scenic Luzern–Interlaken line past lakes and mountain passes. Spend the afternoon by Lake Brienz or Lake Thun.
  5. Day 5 – Jungfraujoch. From Grindelwald, the Eiger Express gondola and the Jungfrau Railway take you up to Europe’s highest railway station at 3,454 m. Go early on a clear day.
  6. Day 6 – Lauterbrunnen valley or lake day. Keep a flexible day for weather. If the high peaks are clouded in, a valley or boat day is the better choice.
  7. Day 7 – Interlaken to Montreux or Geneva. Travel west to Lake Geneva and visit Montreux or Lausanne.
  8. Day 8 – Geneva to Dubai. See the lakeside and old town, then fly home from GVA.

With 10 days, add Zermatt for views of the Matterhorn, or two nights in Bern. With only 5–6 days, base yourself in Lucerne and Interlaken and skip the Geneva leg.

How much does a Switzerland trip from Dubai cost?

Switzerland is one of Europe’s more expensive countries, so the total depends on season, hotel class and how many mountain excursions you take. Package prices from Dubai vary too widely to quote a single figure. When you compare packages, check what is included:

  • Flights: the price difference between peak UAE school holidays and quieter weeks is often the biggest single factor.
  • Hotels: Lucerne and Interlaken are busy in summer; book early for lake-view rooms.
  • Rail pass: a Swiss Travel Pass usually beats buying point-to-point tickets if you are moving between cities, but it does not fully cover the Jungfraujoch or Titlis, which have their own fares and pass discounts.
  • Mountain excursions: often the largest activity cost per person.
  • Meals: restaurant meals cost much more than in Dubai. Supermarket picnics on train days help.

Prices and hours change — check the official site before you go.

Do UAE residents need a visa for Switzerland?

Switzerland is part of the Schengen area, so it depends on your passport. Holders of UAE passports are on the EU’s visa-free list for short stays. Most other nationalities living in the UAE, including many Indian, Pakistani and Filipino residents, need a Schengen visa, applied for through Switzerland’s appointed visa service provider in the UAE before travel. Apply well ahead of summer, when appointments fill up. Check the latest rules before you travel on the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) website or with the Swiss embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Tips for a smoother Switzerland trip from Dubai

  • Book flights first, then fit the hotels around the arrival and departure cities.
  • Keep one flexible day for mountain weather; the summits are only worth it when it is clear.
  • Pack layers, even in July. Summits above 3,000 m are cold and windy even when the lakes below are warm.
  • Travel light if you are using trains, or use luggage forwarding between stations.
  • Book hotels for each base on our Zurich hotels page and the wider hotel search.

FAQ

Questions travellers ask

How many days do you need for a Switzerland trip from Dubai?

Seven to ten days works well for most travellers from Dubai. That allows two or three bases, such as Lucerne and Interlaken, plus one or two mountain days. With five days, stick to one region rather than trying to cover Zurich, the Alps and Geneva.

Is there a direct flight from Dubai to Switzerland?

Yes. Emirates flies nonstop from Dubai International (DXB) to Zurich and to Geneva, and SWISS flies Zurich–Dubai when its schedule is running. The flight takes about six and a half to seven hours. Check current timetables, as Gulf schedules changed several times in 2026.

What is the best month to visit Switzerland from Dubai?

July and August are the most popular because they offer cool weather while the UAE is at its hottest, but they are also the busiest and most expensive. June and September give similar conditions with fewer crowds. For snow, plan December to March.

Which is better to fly into, Zurich or Geneva?

Fly into Zurich if your trip focuses on Lucerne, Titlis and the Bernese Oberland, and into Geneva for Lake Geneva, Montreux and Zermatt. Many itineraries fly into one and out of the other to avoid backtracking by train.

Is a Switzerland holiday package from Dubai cheaper than booking separately?

Not always, but packages remove the work of matching trains, hotels and mountain tickets, and can include better-value rail passes. Compare the package price with flights, hotels and passes priced separately for the same dates. Ziarah Travel wrote this guide. We plan and book trips, and some links go to our booking pages.
